Welcome to RIVERSIDE CHOIR!
The Riverside Choral program is one of four Jr. High Choral programs in the Hamilton Southeastern School District in Fishers, Indiana.
In this year-long elective course, choral students will join a long-standing tradition of excellence as they learn to use their voice to create music! Because music plays an important role in understanding world culture and history, we perform music from a variety of styles, cultures, and periods. Students will also learn to move or dance with some music performed in class. Additionally, we learn vocal technique and anatomy, understand how their voice is changing during adolescence, practice music literacy skills, and develop proficiency with sight reading in various scales. Throughout their experience, students will gain pride in their singing, practice dedication and maturity with regard to their musical development, and contribute to a fun and positive program!
Throughout the year, students will perform a minimum of four after-school concerts. There are also numerous extra solo, small ensemble, and large ensemble performances available; students will be notified in class of all opportunities. The Riverside Choir Program offers both auditioned and non-auditioned ensembles. If your student would like to audition for placement in one of our honor’s ensembles, please contact Mr. Rogers at [email protected] or search this website for more information.
